Meet the team
As founding partner in Gibson's Cabinet Makers, Roy has worked all his life in the woodworking industry and did his design course in "Furniture Design and Manufacture" at Chilterns University, High Wycombe.
Roy is the team leader and does all the design work and over sees the production process right through to installation.
He won the "Woodworker of the Year" award in 2003 for his Humbug table made as his final project at university and continues to take great pride in all of his work.
Roy's father and partner in the business. Retrained in cabinet making taking the HND in "Furniture Production"
He mainly concentrates on the selection of timber and machining up of the components ready for assembly.
Working together is proving to be exciting and rewarding especially with the ardent support from wife and mother Elaine.
Joe is the first full time employee at Gibson's Cabinet Makers and has proven to be indispensable. He took his training in "Furniture Making" at West Dean College in West Sussex.
Joe is able to do everything in the factory and is mainly in control of the assembly of the furniture which is done to a very exacting standard with great pride and tenacity.
Jack has just completed his two year NVQ Level 1 apprenticeship in cabinet making. Before this he completed a level one joinery course at Yorkshire Coast College.
Everything that Jack does is done to perfection and he is more than capable to be in charge of his tasks. He can be dovetailing drawers, mortise and tenoning doors and has an impressive ability at applying a variety of finishes to the completed items of furniture.
